Dr. Ajeet Rohatgi
Dr.Rohatgi is a Regents’ Professor and a Georgia Power Distinguished Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering. He is the founding director of the University Center of Excellence for Photovoltaic Research and Education at Georgia Tech. Before joining the Electrical Engineering faculty at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, in 1985, he was a Westinghouse Fellow at the Research and Development Center, Pittsburgh, PA. As part of the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Dr. Rohatgi and his group designed and installed the world’s largest grid-connected, roof-top PV system on the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center built for the Olympics.
Dr. Rohatgi is an IEEE Fellow. He has published over three hundred and fifty technical papers in this field and has been awarded eleven patents. He is on the Board and Advisory Board of several PV companies. He served as general chair for the 28th IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference in Alaska in 2000. Dr. Rohatgi received the Westinghouse Engineering Achievement Award in 1985 and the Georgia Tech Distinguished Professor Award in 1996 for his research on high efficiency solar cells. In 2003 he received the IEEE PVSC William Cherry Award and the NREL/DOE Rappaport Award for his outstanding contributions to Photovoltaics. In 2007 he received the Georgia Tech Outstanding Research Program Development Award.
Arbinder S. Pabla, Ph.D., MBA
Arbinder is retained as an expert evaluator of technology and markets, and as a strategy and business development consultant by a number of private venture investors to support the development of portfolio companies, as well as to provide technical and commercial diligence expertise in advanced materials, devices and systems technologies. In this capacity, he has advised and scrutinized numerous investments in Europe, North America and Asia. His activities in the solar sector further include a new venture developing a revolutionary solar blind for application in skyscrapers.
Previously Arbinder held roles in Strategy, Business Development, Systems Architecture and Basic Research at Lucent Technologies and Agere Systems Inc., British Telecom Laboratories & Corning Research Centre predominantly in photonics, optical materials, devices and systems technologies. His undergraduate studies were sponsored by the UK Ministry of Defence and DERA/RSRE (Malvern).
Arbinder has a Ph.D. in Electronic & Electrical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, a BSc(Hons) in Physics from the University of Birmingham and an Executive MBA from the London Business School. He has published over 25 research publications and patents.
